I’m all grown up!
February 13, 2007
Well, I just played a video game for half an hour and found out something interesting… I didn’t like it! I spent bunch of time trying to build a character only to be killed in an instant. Wow. What a complete waste of time. Of course, I always knew video games were a complete waste of time, but now that time is especially precious to me… it’s a real waste of time. I’m finding that I really have no more desire to play any sort of video game. I used to be a hardcore gamer. What happened? I guess I just grew up or something.
And I’m listening to more classical music.
Man, when you hit 30… it’s all over (ha ha - I know, it’s just beginning).

I agree. For one, time is worth a lot more than it was way back when, but the new games are also too complicated for me. My old college buddies and I will occasionally break out Warcraft II to relive old times, but even that gets old before long.
You’re over the hill (you poor soul…) but think all of the stuff you do in your freed-up non-gaming time!

Of course there are some 42 year old guys who never grew up so they are major gamers! Oh, and by the way, what is classical music? Is it 80’s music?

I’m sure it could have been recorded in the 80’s, but it was written a long, long time ago. I’ve got my radio tuned to WILL in the car. It’s far less stressful to listen to and I don’t have screaming car salesmen blasting in between songs. Do they even sell cars that way??

Pride goes before a fall, my friend. I predict that before year’s end you will have served as an usher in an online wedding, pawned your radio gear to buy the Sword of a Thousand Truths and have your kids’ names legally changed to Mario and Q*bert.
All kidding aside, enjoy the extra free time.

If you have that much time, you can come home and mow the yard and trim the hedge.
